Councilman Boyd Not Giving Up on Mary Jane
The recent marijuana decriminalization debate was, again, discussed at a Memphis City Council meeting Tuesday.
Councilman Berlin Boyd had previously proposed the ordinance for the decriminalization of marijuana for those who are caught with 14 grams or less on their first offense.
Third annual This Is Memphis festival shakes Levitt Shell
Sunday’s This is Memphis festival was filled with breath-taking performances, spirited Memphians congregating for enjoyment, delicious foods, and perfect feel-good fall weather.
The This Is Memphis festival, presented by the University of Memphis Music Industry Department, was held Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Levitt Shell. The lineup featured student artists, Aaron James, Kyndle McMahan, Drew Erwin and The Band CAMINO, who are signed to the student-ran record label on campus, Blue TOM Records. The label is also a class offered at the U of M.
The Band CAMINO to play before Tiger football game
If students missed the This is Memphis Festival and would like to attend another free concert, The Band Camino is performing at Tiger Lane tonight, Oct. 6 at 4:45 p.m. before the Memphis Tiger football game against Temple.
The Band CAMINO is U of M student comprised act built on years of collaboration between Jeffery Jordan (leads vocals and guitar) Spencer Stewart, who leads (keys, vocals, and guitar) Graham Rowell (bass) and Andrew Isbell (drums.)
In addition to studying at the U of M, the group is working on their first extended play album and has been signed with the U of M’s student-run record label, Blue TOM Records.

A 20-year-old male reported on Sept. 6 that his 2004 Chevrolet was broken into while parked at 591 Echles, and his stereo/ DVD player was missing, according to a campus police report by officer William Skinner. The victim also said his father’s Glock 23 handgun was taken from the vehicle as well, according to the report. Prints were recovered...
